Janus Henderson launches US Transformational Growth Equity ETF for non-US investors
Calendar23 Jul 2025
Theme: ETF
Fundhouse: Janus Henderson

The fund is managed by Nick Schommer and Brian Recht, two experienced portfolio managers that have worked together for over 10 years, supported by a dedicated, sector-based central research team.

JTXX invests in an actively managed, high-conviction portfolio of primarily US companies benefiting from durable trends transforming society, including AI, deglobalisation, healthcare innovation, digitisation, and migration to the cloud. In constructing the portfolio, the managers aim to identify companies with long-term compounding growth characteristics, more disruptive “blue sky” opportunities or underappreciated companies going through life cycle changes. The ETF will typically hold 20 to 25 stocks, generally avoiding the very largest companies.

Nick Schommer, said:

“We aim to capture tomorrow’s growth opportunities rather than yesterday’s winners. We believe that investors underappreciate the amount of risk that extreme concentration is causing in passive funds, which follow backward-looking indices and trade without regard to fundamentals. Our active approach provides thoughtful diversification beyond the 5-10 companies that currently dominate the index”.

The portfolio managers use a bottom-up approach and select stocks based on a deep fundamental assessment of their competitive advantage. In a market where average holding times have fallen sharply, the team focus on future earnings power rather than short-term volatility.

Ignacio De La Maza, Head of EMEA & LatAm Client Group at Janus Henderson, said:

“Janus Henderson is at the forefront of innovation in active ETFs, and we are harnessing our history of active investing to deliver differentiated solutions that meet our clients’ evolving needs. JTXX provides differentiated exposure for growth-oriented investors or those seeking to complement and diversify traditional core allocations”. This is the latest addition to Janus Henderson’s active ETF proposition for non-US investors, and the firm’s seventh overall following a series of strategic launches aimed at addressing client needs. This year, the firm has already launched several products, including the EUR AAA CLO ETF in January, the USD AAA CLO ETF in March, the Mortgage-Backed Securities ETF in May and a Euro Short Duration ETF in June.

The fund listed today on the London Stock Exchange with ticker JTXX and is available in all major European markets.
