- iShares Europe Infrastructure Builders UCITS ETF (BLDR)
- Helping European investors access a major structural investment cycle in local infrastructure
- Combining BlackRock ’s local market insight and global ETF expertise
LONDON, 30 JULY 2026 – BlackRock launches today the iShares Europe Infrastructure Builders UCITS ETF (BLDR), giving investors targeted exposure to European companies helping to build, upgrade and modernise the region’s infrastructure.
Europe is entering a period of sustained infrastructure renewal, supported by public policy, energy system modernisation and long-term investment across the region’s industrial backbone. EU electricity consumption is expected to rise 60% between 2023 and 2030, requiring an estimated €584 billion of grid investment[1], while broader European infrastructure investment is driving a multi-year capital cycle.
BLDR is designed to help investors access this structural opportunity through a transparent, diversified ETF focused on companies with meaningful revenue links to Europe’s infrastructure value chain. Spanning construction, electrification, industrial equipment, materials and logistics, the fund captures both the build-out and the follow-on maintenance and services revenues linked to Europe’s infrastructure renewal, without relying on any single sector.
The fund tracks the STOXX Europe Infrastructure Builders Index and selects companies from the STOXX Europe AC Universal All Cap Index that derive at least 50% of revenues from infrastructure-linked activities. The index caps individual holdings at 8% to help support diversification and manage concentration risk, while excluding companies involved in controversial weapons or deemed non-compliant with internationally recognised norms-based standards.
As Europe’s largest ETF provider, BlackRock combines its scale, investment expertise and deep local presence to broaden Investor choice. The fund joins BlackRock ’s thematic platform - the largest in the UCITS market with more than $20 billion in AUM[2] - expanding a range of over 30 funds designed to give investors access to the powerful trends shaping Europe’s future.
“As Europe invests in its infrastructure, investors are increasingly looking for ways to align their portfolios with long-term growth opportunities closer to home,” said Vincent Denoiseux, Head of Product Research and Innovation, iShares EMEA. “By combining BlackRock ’s scale with our local market insight, BLDR gives European investors a transparent, rules-based exposure to the companies helping to build and strengthen the region.”
