What is your work philosophy?

To be curious, to continue to learn and understand as much as possible. My aim is never to settle into a certain comfort level and above all not to be comforted in a situation or a pattern.

What is your best professional memory?

My best professional memory is my arrival at La Financière de l'Echiquier (LFDE) in 2003. After 18 years as a broker, Didier Le Menestrel, Founder of LFDE, gave me the opportunity to move to the other side of the fence by joining a renowned asset management company. This was an opportunity to discover the world through the eyes of investors and to contribute to the development of the company in European equities, its historical expertise.

And your worst?

My worst experience dates back to 2008, when I was in charge of managing a European small and mid cap fund: I had to face a completely negative market environment that had become irrational. All the notions of fundamental valuations that I had acquired throughout my professional life were no longer a reference. The difficulty lay in the very negative performance of the fund, which I knew had an impact on our clients' assets. Fortunately, we quickly turned things around!

What are your challenges for the next 12 months?

Our main challenges will be to be able to understand and explain the market environment of the next 12 months, a context influenced by a new situation, inflation and recession. We will have to educate in the face of an extremely complex market configuration. We will have to be able to offer the most appropriate investment solutions to our partners and be good advisors.
